All roads lead to Finistère, literally the end of the earth. You'll know when you've arrived if you start swimming.

Getting to Brest by air

Brest has an international airport that serves a growing number of destinations, but probably not yours directly. In many cases, you'll have to go via Paris (Charles de Gaulle or Orly).
From Brest airport, shuttle buses (line 20) take you from the airport to the tramway. From there, you can take the tramway directly to the city center (the “Liberté” stop is right next to the Quartz convention center). All for less than 2 euros.
Cabs are also an option (there is no Uber in Brest) but not for 40 euros.

Getting to Brest by land

Brest's train station (SNCF) will be completely renewed in July 2025. The convention center is a 3-minute walk from the train station. No doubt a preferred option for the national ITRS community. Or even for those who want to mix flying to Paris and enjoying a train ride to Brest.

Getting to Brest by sea

There are many ferries linking the United Kingdom or Ireland with Brittany - via Roscoff for example - which is 45 minutes from Brest.

Getting around the city

We will provide all delegates with a pass to get around the city, valid for the whole week, for tramways, buses, the cable-car, and other Bibus network vehicles.

Full conference tickets include:

Access to the icebreaker event on Monday June 30, 2025
Access to the conference centre (keynote talks and contributed oral sessions, plus the poster session)
Lunch and catered coffee breaks (morning and afternoon) on all four conference days
Access to the evening catered poster session
A travel ticket allowing you to travel free of charge on Brest's public transport network

You can choose to purchase a ticket with or without the gala dinner (Friday, July 04, 2025). Please note that the number of tickets including the gala dinner is limited to 272.

The format of this conference (four days) is only available using full-conference tickets (no one-day tickets).
There will be no on-site registration.

Field trips

Four optional bespoke field trips have been organised for Saturday 5th of July 2025. Visit beautiful Finistère by selecting one of our special tours planned and prepared especially for ITRS 2025 participants!

A flat fee of 125€ will be charged for each field trip. If the minimum number of participants for each tour is not met, the Local Organising Committee will offer an alternative tour or reimbursement.
